why, why, why?
editStill wondering why any of these pages exist. If I want to know the Danish name for Lausanne, say, I won't go to Danish exonyms, I'll go to Lausanne and hover on the Dansk link. Most people who want that bit of info won't even know that these "articles" exist, and have no ready way of finding out. So why do we need such pages any more than we need List of Danish names for spices? —Tamfang (talk) 08:07, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- Because it allows someone to study exonyms based on who is using them rather than who they are about. It's a novel and convenient grouping. 50.235.121.106 (talk) 18:07, 17 February 2025 (UTC)
- And what understandings can be drawn from study of such listicles? If there is anything nontrivial to say about exonyms, I wish someone would say it. —Tamfang (talk) 03:13, 18 February 2025 (UTC)
